“My tattoo session with Dayze was so wonderful!! They make sure that you are completely comfortable with the entire process and know what to expect before you even sit for your tattoo. I have never had a handpoke tattoo before (and only had one other tattoo before my session with Dayze) so I was a little nervous coming in, but Dayze immediately put me at ease by letting me know what the handpoke tool looks like and how it is different from a machine tool. Dayze makes the session so comfortable by checking in with how you’re feeling throughout the session, playing great music, and generally just making the space peaceful. I actually enjoyed my experience with Dayze’s handpoke tattoo much more than my previous machine tattoo experience, largely because Dayze is so gentle and attentive. They really make the experience of getting a tattoo one that felt much more collaborative and comfortable. Their custom drawn design of my cat was beautiful from the start, but they truly brought it to life with such clean lines and detailing in the tattoo. I would definitely recommend going to Dayze for a tattoo, even if you are inexperienced with handpoke— their sessions are so comfortable and relaxing, and they are thorough in promoting their space as accessible to anyone who is seeking to enjoy their art by making accessibility accommodations easy to request with no judgement, as well as providing a sliding scale!! I am obsessed with how my tattoo turned out, and the healing process has been very easy so far. “This was my first time getting a handpoke tattoo so I wasn’t too sure what to expect. Dayze was very open with the process and what to expect out of it. I felt really eased into it. It was a very comfortable experience and honestly one of the least painful tattoos I’ve ever had! They were also very welcoming and kind.

“I found Dayze’s whole demeanor extremely warm. I appreciate how they walked me through the process, explained what they were doing, and (during COVID) explained all the steps they took to keep both of us safe. I have 15+ tattoos from more than 10 artists and I have had experiences where I was not comfortable. There have been times where I don’t feel listened to or respected. I never felt that with Dayze; it was the total opposite. I felt empowered to ask to move the stencil or get in a more comfortable position. 
I love how the tattoos healed. Unlike tattoos I’ve had done with tattoo machines, my tattoos from Dayze were never itchy nor did they scab. Additionally, being able to see fresh versus healed photos on their instagram prepared me by showing how the tattoo would change as it healed.
